Dan Morgan — Host & Creator

Dan Morgan is the creator and co-host of Shadows in the Pines, a Pacific Northwest–based true-crime podcast known for deep research, factual integrity, and victim-centered storytelling.

A Colorado transplant who has called the Pacific Northwest home for over a decade, Dan draws inspiration from the region’s forests, coastlines, and quiet spaces — places where history lingers and stories often go untold. Outside the podcast, he is a master florist with a lifelong appreciation for art, music, and craftsmanship, bringing a creative and detail-oriented eye to every episode.

Dan has always been drawn to true crime — not for shock value, but for the human stories behind the cases: who people were, how events unfolded, and how communities carry the weight of what happened. His storytelling reflects a balance of curiosity, empathy, and restraint, shaped by a deep respect for victims and a commitment to accuracy over speculation.

At heart, Dan is a simple man who loves the outdoors, quiet moments in nature, his cats, and all things dark, eerie, and atmospheric. That blend of grounded realism and fascination with the shadows is what defines both his voice and Shadows in the Pines.

Keep your eyes open and your footsteps light, because in the pines the truth never stays buried.

Rebekah Haler

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Rebekah “Bekah” Haler Co Host and Creator, brings a lifelong connection to the region — and its darker stories — to Shadows in the Pines. A devoted true-crime enthusiast, Bekah is fascinated by the psychology, mystery, and unanswered questions that linger long after a case leaves the headlines.

Outside the studio, Bekah’s interests wander into all things witchcraft and folklore, live music, and exploring new places — especially local breweries and hidden gems off the beaten path. She believes curiosity should always be balanced with humor, and that laughter is essential, even when exploring the most unsettling corners of human behavior.

Grounded, inquisitive, and endlessly curious, Bekah brings warmth, insight, and a sharp sense of humor to the show — guiding listeners through the shadows with empathy, honesty, and just the right amount of levity.
